The Chicago Tribune, in one hurricane article, told of a man who survived for 9 days on nothing but Dr. Pepper. Of course, I immideately asked myself "Why the hell does anyone have a 9 day supply of Dr. Pepper?"
Then I thought about having to survive on only one thing. So:
If you had to survive for nine days ingesting only one thing, what would it be?
I would give serious consideration to GUINNESS Extra Stout.

So far we've got suds, spuds, and speed. If you had enough of all three you could ride out the armageddeon. |

I like Guinness almost as much as Dr. Pepper.
Hmmm.. still, Guinness is better for quenching hunger. But then, alcohol makes for accelerated dehydration, more so than the little caffeine in Dr. Pepper. hmmm... Not an easy choice. |

It's Swedish alcohol-commercial laws.
Edit... It's not that either. It's a programming flaw on the site: age control isn't working. |

Coke or Pepsi but Coke has more of a bite to it.
Seriously though I can understand having 9 days worth of Dr Pepper. That's because right now, I just counted them, I have 21 2-liter bottles of Coke or about 5-weeks supply for me. The reason is because I only buy it when it's on sale, .89 cents a bottle or less and stock up.
For the rest of my survival needs I have 10-gallons of water stored away. The water is not for drinking it's for cooking cleaning wounds etc during a disaster in the event no clean water is available.
I also keep about a case each of a variety of canned vegetables as well as a variety of canned soups not to mention a supply of canned meats. Oh yeah I do the same for canned cat food for my guys as well. All this is used in daily living and when I get down to my last few cans I restock making sure I rotate the stock so I don't have to worry about anything going bad due to age. And yes I have several manual can openers. Perhaps most important of all however are 2-dozen rolls of paper towels and several dozen rolls of toilet paper. How many people think about that last item?
