GOD RULES!!! And no matter which big fancy words you use like "autonomous" or how many stones are actually igneous and not metamorphic, no matter how slow light travels at, or how fast the moon shrinks, or how much moon dust was actually on the moon, or even if dinosaur footprints were fake I will always love my unfailing and merciful God Almighty!!! And I pray that one day you will feel this same way and will enter the kingdom of God!!! Jesus loves you!

Big words like intelligent, something which you aren't.
And which your god could never be, considering how badly it was alleged to have designed us.

GOD RULES!!! Ah yes, the first shot is fired across the bow. You realize, of course, that this is a skepticsite. And being skeptic there are simple ground rules. If you make a claim you have to be able to back it up with facts. The wilder the claim the more compelling the facts that are required. Are you up to it? The first thing you will be required to do is to prove the existence of god. Go on give it a shot.
And no matter which big fancy words you use like "autonomous" Autonomous is a pretty standard high school vocabulary word. Is English not your first language?
or how many stones are actually igneous and not metamorphic, Well that's a new one on me. Is this a creationist argument that I've missed? There are actual Geologists on this board; maybe they can help you.
no matter how slow light travels at, Is this a reference to the distances to the stars being too great for them to be viewable from a "young Earth" scenario?
or how fast the moon shrinks, Always check the care label to see if it says, "Dry Clean Only". I wasn't aware that the moon had a shrinkage problem. Or are you referring to the fact that it is slowly moving further away from the Earth?
or how much moon dust was actually on the moon, You seem to be rebuking a conversation that never occurred in this forum. Is the moon not tidy enough for you? Does it need a good scrub down? What the hell are you talking about?
or even if dinosaur footprints were fake Is someone claiming that dinosaur track ways are faked? Or does this have to do with that dinosaur / human overlapping footprints scam down in Texas? I've seen those things myself––it's utter nonsense. The "human footprints" are not only not human, they aren't even footprints. I will always love my unfailing and merciful God Almighty!!! That's nice for you. But it is another set of claims that, by skeptic rules, you must substantiate. What tests can we conduct to show that god is "unfailing?" What tests can we conduct to show that god is "merciful?" What tests can we conduct to show that god is "almighty?" You keep making one assertion after another but you are not backing them up. You tell us all these attributes of a god that you have never even seen. PUT UP OR SHUT UP
And I pray that one day you will feel this same way and will enter the kingdom of God!!! So since all that you know about us is what you read here, I take it that this is in reaction to some of us (Not all of us by any means) being openly Atheistic. Therefore this prayer of yours can only be construed as open hostility and an insult to we Atheists. Very well then. I pray that you gain an once of intelligence and cast off these stupid superstitions. And if you don't, I pray that you burn in eternal torment!! Hallelujah brothers, amen. How do you like people praying for you? It isn't very nice is it? Yet it is exactly the same "prayer" you are making. You imply the eternal torment when you make the assumption that we, unlike you (who are obviously a better person than we are), are not going to enter the "kingdom of God." It's a shame that bad manners aren't mortal sins for Christians.
Jesus loves you! We went on for months at SFN on a thread called Was There an Historical Jesus. There is no evidence of him. Nothing, not a jot, not a tittle. Zip. And since every part of his life story was already existing in other (pagan) religions long before his time we can only assume that the Greatest Story Ever Told should be filed under fiction. Now if there was an historic Jesus the dude would be dead for thousands of years and would not hold any emotional attachment for me. I've seen The Mummy Returns; being loved by some ancient dead guy from the Near East is no picnic. Tell your buddy Jesus, thanks but no thanks. I'm not that kind of guy.
God not only does not RULE, he doesn't even exist outside of mythology.

Good grief, I spoke to soon... The Moon Dust thing ACK
Young Earth (or should that be Young Universe) creationists seem to think space is like your bedroom closet and the moon should have a think layer of dust bunnies on it...
BTW, I have it from a very good source (Beakman's World, who I liked better then Bill Nye) that the average person sheds 40 POUNDS of skin a year... Get out your dust busters...

Loved that show!! A little more "out-there", plus great hair! 40 pounds might be conservative. I vacation in places like Jamaica and Dominican Republic, so I really tend to molt when I get back to SD. Any word on when BA will get his "Bad Creationist Astronomy" page up? I keep hearing about it, but haven't seen a projected date. Looking forward to it, can use the free entertainment. Hope the recent problems he's had with his board don't interfere too much. Lisa

I also look forward (with some trepidation)to the creation (cretin) astronomy section on Phil's board. You know it will make the moon hoax stuff seem serene, however, so fasten your seat belts and refill your beverages.
Gee, this Jar-Jar is just as stupid and annoying as the one in "Star Wars: Phantom Menace. Just close your eyes and think of the real Jar-Jar Binks voice making this post: "me thinks Jar-Jar love God; me thinks you fool Jar-Jar with you nasty science, Jar-Jar no like stinky skeptics, blblblblbl".

Why must you dissect everything? Seriously, you basically wrote out my entire post! Simply, I believe in God by faith. You should try it some time. And just for the record, there is way more evidence against evolution than there is for creationism and I think you're just too blind to open your eyes or minds. Evolution simply could never happen! Here are 9 things to ponder: 1) Theory of stellar evolution says suns in early stage produce energy by gravitational contraction. Once this heats up to about 10,000,0000 F fusion starts. This process takes from 100,000 to 500,000 years depending on mass. The process of fusion releases neutrinos in its process. The trouble is we cannot detect but about a third of the amount predicted. This indicates we have a much younger sun than 4.5 billion years. 2) If everything is a process of random change over time, then our thoughts are nothing more than random events and our discussion about evolution meaningless. 3) Evolutionists argue that similarity of design proves evolution. But similarity of design more logically points to a designer. If all life came from a single set of genetic instructions of a cell 4.5 billion years ago then we would not see the variety we see today. 4) Evolutionists argue that organisms are suited for their environment because they evolved into it. It is more logical to say that they were created for their environment because many different species live in each environment and interact with it unique ways. If each evolved we would see fewer species because natural selection would eliminate those who were less efficient. 5) If we all came from the same primordial cell we would all be cannibals by the act of eating a carrot or a steak. 6) Evolution is a faith of the small and crude changing into the big and complex. It is true the small seed or baby grows larger and more complex in a temporary reversal of entropy, but the seed and baby both come from adults in an entropy equalizing, recursive process. The seed and the baby are hardly crude either, both are amazing in complexity in their internal DNA coding fully equal to the adults. 7) If as evolutionist say our “selfish genes” are geared for only survival and the passing on of our genetic code, how is it we have need for love, friendship, altruism, etc. Why would one give up his life for a friend or even stranger? 8) After 160+ years transitional links found = 0, nada, zilch! 9) If no change occurred in the last 4000 years in DNA sequencing in studies done on Egyptian mummies, then it is reasonable to assume that the enormous amount of change necessary for evolution could not occur in 25,000,000 years.

Hey, what do you think will happen on the final episode of "The Sopranos" Sunday? I think Tony Soprano is going to go nuts and send Jackie Aprile to an early "mob heaven" reunion with his father and uncle.

jar_jar: Try reading something besides those little ICR brochures if you want to discuss evolution. The points you made are ridiculous. If you are going to let someone else do your thinking for you it helps to choose someone that can. Go to school and by school I mean a good and proper school not some fundamentalist college. Then, if you do attend one of these schools, you will be amazed at how far faith doesn't get you in science courses

Do not Feed the Troll.
I've surfed over on the infidels.org board for a long time (mostly as a lurker, because you really have to know what you're saying or you'll get your head handed to you on a platter). That crowd is VERY TOUGH on creationists, especially ones who jump right in naively with proselytizing and the latest Kent Hovind nonsense. Some of the regulars start other discussions about all sorts of totally banal topics whenever they see a post like this one from "Jar-Jar (me no thinks for myself) Binks45".
So, how about them Red Sox? Will Scully have an alien baby? Why is Angie Harmon leaving Law and Order? yada, yada, yada...

Yeah, I tried that out, but I found that even the moderators had little interest in actual discussions, they just wanted to insult and humiliate people so they could put another notch on their stock. It's not intelligent discussion there, it's a free-for-all. Very disappointing.
And JarJar Binks wasn't that annoying!
