Hey-- if you're looking for something to do starting at 10 pm Eastern, why not stop by SFN's chat and let us know what's on your mind. We'll be talking about politics, science, telling some joks and, of course, discussing alcohol. And who knows what else! So come by and see what's up...

Hey-- it's past midnight and much of the SFN staff has gone home and turned off the "chat" sign. But that doesn't mean that people aren't still chatting. Feel free to stop by and see what's going on in the world. Simply announce that you're going to be around and see who shows up! Else, we'll talk to you on Sunday (led by Mab) or next Wednesday (led by yours truly)!

Hey Cune, well just after you left, Guest and I had a nice chat about what is skepticism. Fortunately he's a programmer and had a nice base in logic from which to start. Then Ricky joined the chat and the talk turned to baseball and NJ.

They (Women Marines) don't have a nickname, and they don't need one. They get their basic training in a Marine atmosphere, at a Marine Post. They inherit the traditions of the Marines. They are Marines.

If I'd only known he was a programmer at the time. Oh well, there's always next week.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

My coup/act of revenge paid off.
"Get me my manual, or the folders gets it..."

It turns out those folders were much more important than I expected because e-mails were circulated to various people about it, some on the supervisor levels as my boss, asking for them.
By the time I got back to work I found the mail forwarded to me, and the manual on my desk...

Now, the folders are restored to their original space, and I have the manual locked up at a secure place.

All's well that ends well.
