A brand new pile 'o crap from AOL: quote: NEW YORK (Oct. 23) - Most Americans do not accept the theory of evolution. Instead, 51 percent of Americans say God created humans in their present form, and another three in 10 say that while humans evolved, God guided the process. Just 15 percent say humans evolved, and that God was not involved.
These views are similar to what they were in November 2004 shortly after the presidential election.
This question on the origin of human beings, asked both this month and in November 2004, offered the public three alternatives: 1. Human beings evolved from less advanced life forms over millions of years, and God did not directly guide this process; 2. Human beings evolved from less advanced life forms over millions of years, but God guided this process; or 3. God created human beings in their present form.
Actually reading the poll, we see that some 38% say that Evolution is responsible with no help from God; 32% say God done it in our present form, for who knows what perverse reason, and some 30% believe that God got it started and guided evolution. It further states that some 70% beoieve that one can have faith in God but still accept evolution.
Now, someone correct me if my math is off, but 38 + 30 percent does not a minority make.
And why not...?

I think we should poll the American public on how far the sun and the other planets are from the Earth and we will teach those answers in school to our children.
Then we can take a survey of the american public to see where all of the countries are located on the globe and use that to teach geography.
Better yet we can ask the American public who the vice president of the US is... then whoever they come up with we can put him in office - he's got to be better than 'what's his name"...
The only thing that poll shows is that we need a better education system in this country!

Well they write 51% and the poll says 32%. Since the poll is ongoing they clearly didn't wait for a big enough sample size to draw a correct conclusion. |

I don't think they are referring to the poll that is actually going on on that particular site, but some other poll made by a company like Gallup or something. It wouldn't make sense to analyse their own poll without locking it. |
