What causes it is completely irrelevant to whether or not I believe in gravity. Whether it's an inherent property of matter, an emergent property of yet-to-be-found particles, or fairies pushing things, the fact of gravity (the effects we see) isn't open to belief or disbelief.quote: You do believe in evolution, but you don't actually know for certain the exact mechanism by which creatures evolve.
No, I don't believe in evolution, and evolution uses several different mechanisms to shape the biological world. Nobody is looking for "the exact mechanism" because there isn't just one.quote: Evolution is a fact.
So why should I "believe in" it if it's a fact?quote: The mechanism behind it is the part I am suggesting is not as clear cut as it could be.
Oh, please. You're suggesting much more than that. You stated, flatly, that there are no transistional fossils, when (in fact) that just isn't true. You suggested that you think that evolutionary mechanisms need to "comprehend" aerodynamics before those mechanisms can construct a functioning wing, forcryingoutloud.
And now, you've changed the subject. Why not just admit that you haven't done "due diligence" on evolution as you did on the Moon-landing hoax? Why continue to insist that some things are true which just aren't? Your bluff has been called. |

No. I experience gravity. Now more than 15 years (and 15 Kg) ago.

Yes I do. Matter causes it. How? Now that's another question. That I don't know.

Correction: I observe evolution. Almost everywhere.

Nothing ever is 100% certain.

Indeed. Perhaps you should study it a bit more because, honsetly, your knowledge of it seems to be lacking. |

I gotta steal a page from Slater's book on this one. You are a transitional fossil, you just don't know it yet. |

I'd almost agree, but with 6 billion of the species around, some of us are bound to survive in a smaller group and branch. If we ever figure out how to get off the planet before our 4.5 billion are up. |

Predictions are that Earth will look like Venus in about a billion years. We need to clear out before then. |

There are other predictions that the Earth will look like a radioactive wasteland in a century or two, or possibly a planet hit by a civilisation-killing asteroid.
On the other hand, even if we do manage to get of the Earth in 900 million years' time, we would still need to leave the solar system somehow, watching the sun go cold is pretty much as fun on the Earth as on Mars or in orbit around Callisto. |

Well, I was expecting generation ships of a sort. A not hanging around this corner of the solar system kinda thing. |

"progression to human" You say that as if human existence was inevitable, but I really suspect that is a result of your christian dependency. One thing that you should understand is, "Testimonies of faith are no substitution for the cummulative knowledge gained through the hard work of science." It appears that your dependency requires you to deny the findings of other's hard (lifetime) work. I believe your dependency forces you to be dishonest, and you might even find this troubling. |

My thoughts precisely.
I'd like to see intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. It'd be incredibly awesome if it was absolutely unlike human life (Solaris, by Stanislav Lem, comes to mind), so different humans would not be able to understand it. Should teach human-centric people a lesson in humility. |

Wow...
That's one of the best B-rated movies I saw in my youth... NOT. But it was enjoyable none the less, for a sci-fi-starving guy. Much better than Wing Commander. Edited to add: With so many reknown names in the cast, Wing Commander had the potential of being so much better. |
