Some guys aparently had enough...

quote:
A course being offered next semester by the university religious studies department is titled "Special Topics in Religion: Intelligent Design, Creationism and other Religious Mythologies."

"The KU faculty has had enough," said Paul Mirecki, department chairman.

"Creationism is mythology," Mirecki said. "Intelligent design is mythology. It's not science. They try to make it sound like science. It clearly is not."

Emphasis mine...

quote:
Mirecki said his course, limited to 120 students, would explore intelligent design as a modern American mythology. Several faculty members have volunteered to be guest lecturers, he said.

If only I lived in Kansas (er... then again). That's a class I'd like to attend.

I wish there was a way to drag the Kansas School Board to that class.

Yeah, but its a start pleco.

I would rather face a cold reality than delude myself with comforting fantasies.

You are free to believe what you want to believe and I am free to ridicule you for it.

Pleco's right. The God-fearing among us know better than to listen to them impudent, tree-hugging, left wing freaks. Fer some reason, universities are fulluvem, cept Bobby Jones U and a few others.

Didnt you hear on that other thread, you only need one adjective to describe them as all things evil: Liberal

"...things I have neither seen nor experienced nor heard tell of from anybody else; things, what is more, that do not in fact exist and could not ever exist at all. So my readers must not believe a word I say." -Lucian on his book True History

"...They accept such things on faith alone, without any evidence. So if a fraudulent and cunning person who knows how to take advantage of a situation comes among them, he can make himself rich in a short time." -Lucian critical of early Christians c.166 AD From his book, De Morte Peregrini

"For every action, there is an equal and opposit reaction." I believe it was the great alchemist, Newton, who said something to that effect.

I think that the opposit reaction is now underway, and the course at U of K as well as the Dover, PA school board election are signs of it.

May it continue....
