I agree, though the YECs would somehow dig up Biblical arguments to discount its significance. But I would hope such an experiment would not be allowed to progress beyond the zygote stage. (Zygote: Is that the hybrid offspring of a male zebra and a nanny goat?) If a humanzee or chuman were discovered to exist, it would certainly bring up some interesting ethical issues about its treatment, and its rights. |

Not to mention that it would escalate the debate about the right of chimps as well. If it was possible to create a hybrid with these critters, then surely they should also have the right that all humans do. Not only would they be eligible for receiving retirement pensions (if living in Sweden) and learning how to read and write, but some people would also probably try to pass a law requiring that they be taught intelligent design. Ah, progress... |

Are there many chimpanzees living in Sweden's forests? (My geography lessons were vague on this issue.) If so, do you know if there are any hybrid examples, Swepanzees or Chedes?
I think that chimps with full human rights would probably accept ID on their own, without having to be forced. After all, didn't they long ago reject the idea of evolving into hominids? |

I saw a chimp/human hybrid on TV last night. She had a minor part on the series "Surface." She cried out "Where's my mommy?" like a small child, enticing a man to her aid whereupon she attacked him until scared off by a woman with a gun. I don't believe she was real though, probably just someone in a monkey suit. |
