A "guestbook" is a more useful feature for people too lazy to register. It keeps all the rubbish in one spot, not cluttering up the actual forums with detritus.
If the lurkers aren't encouraged to join by all of the good posts, parley, personalities and protestations in plentiful supply here, making it simpler to post probably isn't going to help a great deal.
Agreeing with John; a guest book might be the way to go. Howsomever.....;
Landover Baptist had a guest book and they clearly stated that it was not for the use of demons to communicate with each other. Of course, we demons abused it horribly, and everybody had a lot of fun. Then, the assholes showed up and they finally shut it down.
And every now and then, John Stear puts up the utter, blithering insanity that too often shows up in the NAiG guestbook.
Worth thinking about, though.

Even the guest book will be cluttered with garbage. And SPAM. Lots of SPAM. My astronomy clob tried it, and before we closed it, Sex-ad spam alone matched the numbers of "wanted" posts. |
