Did anybody catch Comedy Central's "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" last night (11/14/01)?

It features a Mo Rocca "interview" with a "creation scientist" named Baugh (I think -- I didn't see the name spelled out). This guy is convinced the dinosaurs were contemporaneous with humans 6000 years ago, and thinks "The Flintstones" is pretty realistic.

The whole thing was hilarious. In the follow-up, Rocca showed a series of Polaroids of Pterodactyls taken recently in New Guinea. (Unfortunately, they were all completely black.)

Has anybody heard of this fellow Baugh before?

Heh, I watch TDS religiously. I couldn't help but laugh when they were showing the Land of the Lost and Flintstone clips.

Is this guy's name "Carl Baugh"? If so, then
yes, I have heard of him. This guy has one hell of a reputation for being a B.S. artist.

I think that's the guy. He showed one of his supposed "man-track" fossils.

I thought that name was familiar; I'm sure I've crossed his trail a time or two.

Thanks for the link. I don't think I have the stomach to slog through his whole "dissertation" though...

The funny part was not that TDS showed the clips... it was that Baugh was taking them seriously... "I'm not sure if that's a bird or a pterodactyl."

This guy's as looney as the one they had in the PBS evolution series, showing his model with Triceratops being loaded onto the Ark!

(fixed a typo)

That was Ken Hamm. Avoid at all costs.

I just saw a repeat of the "Daily Show". It was indeed Carl Baugh, of "man-track" fame.

What a maroon...
