I thank you also. It is very difficult to read posts with no punctuation or structure.

In fact, it is one of the things that is typical of many religious fundamentalists who come to these forums (by no means all, just many).

The use of basic grammar in writing also helps ensure that whatever point you are trying to make is understood. A single misplaced comma can totally alter the meaning of a sentence.

But no one is going to police anyone's posts for proper grammar.

As for spelling.... if it weren't for the spell checker in the google toolbar I'd look like the village idiot with the number of spelling mistakes and typos I make. This is a great tool.

I got halfway though before I realized I was being had. At that point I recognized a contradiction that I already knew about. Everybody sould get 100% instead of 0 since each choice is supported by the bible. Not only did they make the whole god comes down to earth gets killed and comes back to life story it isn't even original (See http://jesuspuzzle.humanists.net/ )
What I don't understand is why they didn't clean these up during the first couple of centuries AD while they suppressing dissenters and destroying evidence of the pagan origins of the Christ myth.

I wonder if these contradictions existed in the Gnostic gospels.

I caught it almost right away. I recognized the "Women in the Tomb" contradiction, then went back and tested with both answers. Clever. Sneaky, but clever.

HM posted these Biblical lines:
15:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When any man hath a running issue out of his flesh, because of his issue he is unclean.

15:3 And this shall be his uncleanness in his issue: whether his flesh run with his issue, or his flesh be stopped from his issue, it is his uncleanness.

15:4 Every bed, whereon he lieth that hath the issue, is unclean: and every thing, whereon he sitteth, shall be unclean....

and so on to this line:
15:14 And on the eighth day he shall take to him two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, and come before the LORD unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and give them unto the priest:

This would make sense on an infectious disease level. But it's a no brainer. Ever see gooey pus draining out of a wound? Of course paying the priest off at the end is certainly fishy.

Other passages in Leviticus get the infectious disease measures off by far.

Thanks, B! So, suggesting the washing of contamination by foul-smelling pus discharges doesn't require a high degree of medical knowledge, eh? More of an obvious esthetic matter.

"Paying the priest," that's a very good point!

To us modern people who have a basic understanding of germ-theory, this is a no-brainer. But then, this text was written almost(?) 3000 years ago, to its contemporary people who did not have our knowledge.

Paying the priest is a good idea. He has to be fed also, and back then he was more than just a preacher of the holy word. He represented at least a small measure of social security, unless I'm mistaken.

Have you seen a lot of oozing pus, Dr M? Wouldn't you want to wash it off and wash the sheets?

Some of the stuff Leviticus gets wrong was the priest was supposed to inspect people with lesions and send them away if they tried to enter the village. That just isn't necessary and misses the real things that spread disease.

Also, you don't have to know the germ theory to know things were contagious. Look at all the leper stuff in the Bible. They had to have known that was contagious. At the same time, people got it wrong about leprosy until modern times. It's one of the least transmissible of all contagious diseases. You typically have to be exposed over a long period of time to get it. Leper colonies prevented very little disease.
