This isn't exactly humour, but it's not terribly serious either.

We have Filthy's latest sig to thank for the inspiration for this post. Can anyone spot the resemblance? Please explain.

From Filthy's sig as at 18/03/2006.

For them wanting to indulge my delusion a little more, Pauline Hanson is a somewhat bigoted ex-politician from Australia. Not the sharpest of implements in the second drawer at the best of times, she really wasn't savvy enough to survive in politics. You can read the wikipedia article on her here.

John's just this guy, you know.

I recall reading about her; way back in the 90s. An anti-immigrant politician vocal enough to have made the news here in the states.

Thanks John

I'm confused here. Is there something about the resemblance I'm supposed to notice or is it merely that Ms Hansen was considered poisonous?

There are other, more attractive photos in the link. There is something of a resembelence between her and Marion Griffin -- who, I rather doubt, looks anything like the late and unfortunate "Typhoid" Mary Mallon.

Not especially, it's a pretty superficial resemblance really, mostly the hair colour and a bit of a scowl, not much more than that. Some people more politically inclinded than I might get a kick out of the comparison though. One of those strange things that jumped out at me, sitting in the lounge room with my laptop, watching the TV (I think it was Commonwealth Games coverage my wife was watching). Who knows what my subconscious was up to?
