Here is an article from the Canandian Medical Association Journal on using extremeley high doses of Vitamin C to treat cancer.

Intravenously administered vitamin C as cancer therapy: 3 cases

Vitamin C was given intravenously to achieve concentrations that are impossible to achieve orally. Of course 3 cases do not a study make but it looks like they are going a ahead with a proper study to see if these 3 people were just lucky.

If you do not want wade through the whole article here is a news story on it
Vitamin C deserves another look

I wonder how this one will get spun by the vitamin merchants.

edit Perhaps we should have a contest to find the greatest distortion of these findings.

Especially when there never was an autopsy performed on at least one of the subjects, who died less than 2 years after the treatment.

Never the less, ascorbic acid as a possible treatment for certain kinds of cancer is at least plausible. Exciting news. Let's hope no one takes this to heart in an attempt at self-medication because oral intake simply isn't enough.
