The Southern Poverty Law Center has some good background on Christian Reconstructionism, and mentions American Vision as a "Reconstructionist think tank", in its 1998 Intelligence Report on anti-abortion violence:

Bush's nominee is quite close to being an actual subversive with ties to criminal activity.

Abducting UFOs and conspiring against conspiracy theorists since 1980.

Oh, dude. I'm so sorry. Just engaged and your fiance is already out smelling gay guys? Trust me: this is a BAD THING.

But the beergut thing is good. I'd forgotten that and I hates them forever for it.

My kids still love me.

On the more serious side, this nominee appals me. And I'm the resident Bush supporter and abortion foe. I'm e-mailing Bush.

I don't know yet if this appointment requires Congressional approval; if so, I'll e-mail my reps, too.

Does anyone know if this is so?

My kids still love me.

I can't believe I'm doing this, and I feel so dirty, but here's a link to the NOW website...

http://www.now.org/issues/right/bramevictory.html

Brame has withdrawn his name from consideration. Yay!

[Way back on Dec. 6, too. Don't we feel silly! ]

Ok, one problem with the site TD - religious extremeism doesn't just endanger women - it endangers all of us.

It is by the goodness of God that in our country we have those three unspeakably precious things: freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and the prudence never to practice either of them. -Mark Twain

Hey, no argument here. The NOW site was just the first site that came up on a search. I was trying to find out the answer to Garrette's question about whether Congress has to approve appointments, so I searched www.google.com for National Labor nomination, and got the NOW hit. I didn't even read past the statement that he pulled out.

Go to the main page of the SFN forum (All Forums page). On the left side, you'll see a box that includes the line "My SFN". Click on that. Again, on the left side, click on "Edit Profile".
