We are constructing an interactive skeptic website to share music, rituals, and videos about extraordianry experiences and deconversion stories. You could go down in history as an early contributor. Be amazed. Check out skepticreligion.org.

Hi Ruth, I'm Marf. I live right by you in Philly. Do you know about the local freethoughty groups in our area?

www.phact.org
www.hagp.org (This one I'm a member of and Celebrant/webmaster for.)
www.fsgp.org

I checked out the website. How many people are working on it? I like the general concept and see some potential. My two biggest criticism at this point (with consideration that it is not finished) is that it could be a lot slicker in regards to design and ease of interactive use. And one more specific thing - there has to be an obvious way to turn the music on a page off without requiring the person turn their speaker off or down. Sometimes people are listening to music on their computer already, and so not being able to turn off a webpage's soundtrack can be annoying to those people.

Anyway, welcome to Skeptic Friends Network. Hope you stick around and keep us updated on your website project, and check out some of the cool articles and discussions here. I've been a member for nearly a year and I'm completely addicted.

There are play and stop buttons to the left of the top main banner.

And for those of us lazy asses like myself who like links: http://www.skepticreligion.org/

Hmmm... I found them on mine, but I had to scroll all the way down and they were at the bottom left corner.

For me, they appeared under the left-hand menu, and the stop button did not function as expected (or seemingly at all).

I've gotta say that I've now been through every page I could find on the site, and I still don't have a grasp on what the point of it all is.

Worked fine for me when I viewed the page in Firefox. However, when I opened the page in Explorer then the buttons were where you and Marf found them (at the bottom) and the stop button did indeed not work.

Well, I've been using Exploder. I also noticed that some of the graphics seemed to be less-than-complete (for example, words inside an image being cut off, in one case just the top half of "abstract" was visible to me). Maybe if I switched browsers, the whole point to it all would become apparent to me.

I ...uh... think it is directed at the target audience of light, fluffy, spiritual ...err... skeptics. You know, those ... skeptics who like to ...um... mystify ...you know... stuff.

So, like, get out the incense, get in touch with your inner skeptic, twist your bodies into bone-breaking configurations and get set to experience the spiritually mystical state of skepticism. Don't just do skeptical thought...BE the skeptic in the wholeness of one's ...um... BEING.

Help me out here....

How could you? In my opinion, that program bombs...

I wasn't going to post that, but it just kept nagging at me.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.
