They decided that God wouldn't play tricks or test their faith by planting fake geologic formations which give an answer larger than Bishop Ussher's calculation, and so it must have been that either the Bishop was wrong, or the Bible's creation stories are poetic descriptions and not literal truth. And it wasn't for a lack of trying - they tried deperately to reconcile what they saw and measured with what the Bible says, and failed.

And you won't even make the attempt, but instead simply claim that the Bible is the "ultimate authority" on these scientific matters. The only thing science recognizes as an "ultimate authority" is the evidence itself. You, obviously, think that you - personally - should be able to cherry-pick a different authority for certain branches of science, but you've offered no good reason for why we should entertain your whims.

The main areas of "science" that is in conflict between evolutionists and creationists are restricted to the areas of microbiology, anthropology, archeology and cosmology. I do not see any debates raging on between evolutionists and creationists over electricity.
Yes, you do. You just don't realize that if you're correct, it would also mean that our ideas about electricity are wrong. Microbiologoy, anthropology, archeology and cosmology don't exist in a vacuum, but instead depend upon physics and chemistry, and in turn affect biology, medicine, astronomy and a host of other sciences. The fact that you fail to see the interdependence of most scientific fields doesn't mean that such relationships don't actually exist.

And you still haven't answered our questions regarding your assertions about the little dead cyclops kitten.
