So apparently there is a strong possibility that Senator Rick Santorum of PA has been keeping a house in Pittsburgh that he and his family do not live in so that he can claim PA residency and continue being a PA Senator. It is a known fact that the Santorums spend most of their time in Leesburg, VA, but I can't find anything published that says how much time is "most" or how much time is required for one to be a legal resident of PA. Anyway, Santorum's critics are saying that the (very small for a guy with 6 kids) house he owns in Pittsburgh is empty and has never been lived in by the Santorum family.

This issue has come to light because it was brought up by Santorum's opponent. Santorum's response has been to accuse his opponent of sending an operative to his house to trespass and therefore put his children in danger.

His children who live in Virginia.

I really wish this would disqualify that homophobic jerk from running for Senate, but I highly doubt it will.

Had I known he was so close, I would have driven over to his house to ask him when he's going to tell the Creationists that the "Santorum Amendment" isn't a law, and that spreading lies about it doesn't help their cause, but instead makes 'em look like hypocrites.

Of course, were I to try to do so now, I'm sure I'd be answering Homeland Security questions rather than chatting with Rick.
