Severe respiratory infection outbreak in Brazil.

This could be flu, regular or other. While the article is on 9 cases of severe complications (7 dead and 2 critical), the actual outbreak appears to be a widespread respiratory infection. It would be early for flu in Brazil if their pattern matches ours. Flu here occurs in mid or late winter. And 9 severe or fatal cases among less than healthy children is not really as remarkable as it might seem.

I'm curious what you are hearing, Siberia. I so like asking people who are actually there. These Internet forums are great.

BTW, time to practice common prevention regardless. It sounds like an unpleasant infection at the least.
