Over here there is political furore with our Governer General (effectively our head of state, he answers to the Queen - dont get me started on the topic of Australia becoming a republic. I'll wear the keyboard out complaining about monarchists) under fire for covering up sexual abuse when he was Archbishop of Brisbane in the 80's

Why is it that people in the church seem to be immune from prosecution for terrible acts to children?....It makes me angry as they are so hypocritical, preaching scripture one minute, then abusing children the next.

Any opinions on this matter????

Dunno, the Catholic Church pays out a small fortune every year for children sexually abused by priests.

So the Governor-General didn't inform the victim's family because it would jeapordize the school's insurance policy? And this isn't a cover-up exactly how? So what happened to the alleged molester?
