Just THIS In:

In a Fourth of July speech today President Bush declared, for Iraq, there would be no pulling out. Putting it that way makes me think that George H.W. Bush should have been the one who pulled out----just about 60 years and nine months ago.

Maybe he could use North Korea's missile launches as an excuse to pull Iraq troops out and redeploy them in Asia, for 'added security'. (I think the troops though homesick would also appreciate the R&R leaves in Tokyo.)

P.S. Some repulsive Republican senator on CNN today wasted no time blaming the Clinton administration for today's saber-rattling NK missile tests, saying that the 1994 treaty was defective and led to them. The Republicans will use ANYTHING (including 9/11) for political purposes.

Diversity, independence, innovation and imagination are progressive concepts ultimately alien to the conservative mind.

"TAX AND SPEND" IS GOOD! (TAX: Wealthy corporations who won't go poor even after taxes. SPEND: On public works programs, education, the environment, improvements.)

I'm reminded of a George Carlin bit about the first Gulf War.

"What was the mistake we made in Vietnam? We pulled out. Not a manly thing to do. This time we're 'going all the way'. The leader of the free world using the sexual slang of a thirteen year old to describe foreign policy"

or something like that.

And that the two people in charge of the war, Dick Cheney and Colon Powell, showed somebody was getting _ in the _

If I was the Supreme Being, I wouldn't muck about with butterflies and dandelions, I'd start with lasers, eight o'clock, Day One!
