I am new here, although I believe I have posted something years ago under a name I can not remember. So I will say I am new. Here.

My expereince with science is limited. Very limited. I do know that if you mix salt with water and iodine you get wet, red salt. And that's what I know about science.

I also know Chippewa personally. He was kind enough to lecture me on how knowledge can be eaten but I left the room after he pulled out the knives and forks.

I found a video of the only science lesson I ever saw on TV. The lesson is the first part of the video. The rest is other stuff.
I hope you folks can learn some science from this video, too.

I hope this link works:

thank you.

Welcome [back] to SFN, craiger!

Ah, Spike Jones, Version 1.0 of Weird Al Yankovic. He did some really brilliant stuff, though not what I saw in that particular video.

But craiger, you know more about science than you think! In one of my favorite explanations of the scientific method, you'll see that you practice science all the time.

As for knowing facts and figures-- that's nice. But most of the time you'll find that you don't know what you want to, and you do know what no one else cares about. That's what shit like Wikipedia is for!

And Dave, too.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

Yes, I'm dying for one. After my last pay cut, it's going to take me a whole infinity to save up for that new computer.
