I continue to be perplexed that the economy isn't the main issue for American voters, what with the amount of debt average people live with and the cost of higher education getting relatively higher and higher.

As much as the Democratic Leadership Council bugs me in a lot of ways, this is a pretty good article about the Republican vs. Democratic stances on taxation - good because it makes a strong case for the argument that the American middle class is shrinking and will continue to shrink, and it also covers complex economic issues in a way that is brief and fairly easy to understand. http://www.ppionline.org/ppi_ci.cfm?knlgAreaID=125&subsecid=163&contentid=253989
