Perhaps we could work something out along those lines. Would Canada take George W. Bush as a "landed immigrant"? Please?

Ok, first off, many apologies for being in attendence so sporadically. Alas, I don't use the computer at the library, but one of my own. This wretched contraption has developed some sort of software indigestion that my son-in-law has said he'd fix, but thus far hasn't. And my phone line isn't all that reliable as well, so I'm writing this on borrowed time.
As far as the OP of this thread is concerned, I see no reason to back away from it, language not withstanding. Any in-depth study of our current mistake in the White House will clearly demonstrate the dishonesty and incompentence of that major cock-up.
I seen no point in mentioning this beyond curosity for the reaction, but John Avarosis is openly gay.
Language is fascinating, espeaclly the changes over time. It wasn't all that long ago that "nigger" was a perfectly acceptable, slang term for "negro." Intrestingly, Dave, you'll be familiar witrh this one, a VA Senate hopeful stepped on his pecker and called an American of Indian ancestory; "macaca." This is a deriviation of "macquac," a common, old-world monkey. It is also used as a slur by rich white trash, notbly French, against the indigious peoples in their former colonies. The politition in question is of French ancestory who's parents lived for many years in North Africa.
I'm going to leave the Scarry bit up for a while longer. It takes too long to research a successor and I'm having a lot of trouble staying on line.

Yesterday I saw the Penn & Teller's Bullshit! episode "humbug", relating to colourful language.
Sago, you should pick it up and watch it. See past the colourful language (at least try not to be distracted by it), and learn something new.
At least learn why so many of us are amused by your reaction. You seem react strongly to "fucking", but have no problem writing "F'ing" which means exactly the same thing. Cuss-words are used to stress whatever point you are trying to make, and substituting one word for another is just ridiculous.
I could say George Bush is a moron. But that is an understatment. I could say that George Bush is (in a ten-level scale where 1 is 'barely' and 10 is 'very much') a level 12 moron. But I think it's easier to say George Bush is an insane motherfucking moron. It gives me the opportunity to blow of some steam, and at the same get the point through.
Verbally abusing Bush give me some much needed satisfaction, though not restitution for crimes committed against the human race, and Americans and Iraqies in particular. Only by the spilling (and not replacing) of 4 litre of his blood will that be fixed.

It's actually the genus name of (at least) some macaques.quote: It is also used as a slur by rich white trash, notbly French, against the indigious peoples in their former colonies. The politition in question is of French ancestory who's parents lived for many years in North Africa.
Not only that, but the guy George Allen called "macaca" was known to him as a paid cameraman for his Senate opponent, not some random guy in the crowd. |

I'd just like to add that I'm in complete agreement with filthy's complete agreement with John Avarosis of AmericaBlog.
Bush is also the worst fucking president we've ever had. "Worst fucking" is probably too kind. He's anti-fucking. Oh for the days of a good fucking president! |

Sorry if I've missed some posts. I haven't been away from the library, but simply my PC.
All you defenders of obscenities miss the point. I can say fuck you as easily as the next, but when an entire rant is based on nothing but obscenities, like some typical piece of rap crap, then it deserves comment on what it is.
This is actually becoming boring. You either get the point, or don't care.
So be it.

The point of the rant is that Bush is actively attempting to subvert the Constitution of the United States of America and should be at driven from office, if not tried for treason.
Sago, I think that you have allowed verbage to eclipse content.

Ah, the lying racist makes his return. Or would that be racist liar? At any rate, it seems we need to add "reading comprehension impaired" to the list of qualifiers, since the AmericaBlog essay was definitely not based on nothing but obscenities, but actually commented upon:
- Republicans hypocritically claiming terrorists hate American freedom while actively attempting to eliminate the freedom of Americans.
- The Bush Administration treating the office of President as an irreproachable position of absolute power instead of an elected position responsible for and subject to the people it represents.
- The Bush Administration's active efforts to thwart the balance of governmental powers which the framers of the Constitution took such pains to put into place.
- The sheer hubris and contempt which the Bush Administration exhibits while engaging in these illegal activities.
- The people who enable the Bush Administration to get away with these actions are a greater danger to America than foreign terrorist organizations working outside the country.
So, there's quite a bit of weighty subject matter there that couldn't possibly be missed unless one is either a complete idiot or a raving conservative ideologue. Considering you've once again displayed your cultural (in)sensitivities by labeling an entire genre of musical expression "crap," I'm going to assume both.

Oh, I think we all "get it," Sago. You seem to be the only one dense enough to fail to get it thus far.

I do wonder why the most conservative in the crowd aren't ranting about all the spying by the Bush company, not to mention all the other attacks on the Constitution? |
