YO: Go to rawstory.com or the new york times website for the Frank Rich column coming out this weekend regarding Field Marshall Rumsfeld's American-Appeasers/NaziSpeak. Here's an excerpt from Rich:
"Here's how brazen Rumsfeld was when he invoked Hitler's appeasers to score his cheap points: Since Hitler was photographed warmly shaking Neville Chamberlain's hand at Munich in 1938, the only image that comes close to matching it in epochal obsequiousness is the December 1983 photograph of Rumsfeld himself in Baghdad, warmly shaking the hand of Saddam Hussein in full fascist regalia."
Orwellingly Yurz sez: Rumsfeld shaking the hand of Saddam...or Ronald Reagan cutting and running in Lebanon! Is it that these Neocon Clowns think we have no memories...or is it that THEY'VE forgotten?

They don't think it, they know it.
And they are right, more or less.

To me the incredible nonsense has gone over the top. But Dean of the Watergate era was on CSPAN yesterday and CNN with his latest book, Conservatives Without Conscience, and he made an interesting comment. Roughly 60% of Republicans did not want to impeach Clinton and 30% did. When Dean asked Party leaders why they would follow through on impeaching Clinton with 60% not in favor they replied it was because the 30% made up "the base". Dean thinks the Party's marriage with that base is a big mistake and he went on to say a bit more, but it certainly explains the over the top rhetoric which most people must be getting wary of by now. |
