YO: I sent the following email this afternoon to the CBS Evening News.
I was going to give Katie a chance, but she and Mr. Moonfaced blew it. I now won't have to be bothered about whether I should be watching the CBS Evening "News" or not. It isn't news, just like so much of the other un-news found nowadays. I still think you guys should have made hard negotiations for Oprah to do the program, or maybe Bret Hume. Bush is bad enough, but Roosh Limpbatt (who, much like Bush, can only bring out hate in humans) is the last fucking straw. As Howard Dietz once wrote, "That's Entertainment." I'm saddened by the fact that Walter Cronkite is part of this folly of Mr. Moonface's. It is a bitter pill to swallow to realize that Walter's image is being cheapened as he must show up for the launch of so much mock news. Shame is not part of the emotional lexicon of the Neo-con minded. So do your best within the upper reaches of your corporate game plan to not report on the government's continuing effort to consolidate, even more, all media as well as usurping as much control of internet communications as possible (reminiscent of the early 20th century when the gaming of the electromagnetic spectrum was unfolding.) And, good Lord, at all costs, don't let anyone know about efforts to re-instate the Fairness Doctrine for commercial news broadcasters, or about how much liberal democracy could be re-invigorated with its return. I suggest you have a stand-up piece sometime during the first week of Ms. Couric's anchoring wherein the CBS correspondent in the field is shown urinating on Ed Murrow's grave. The visual effect would probably carry more impact if the reporter were male. Now that would be a metaphorical truth for which your network could hold its head high as it so easily once could.
And I add only the following for the Skeptics crowd....OY!

Howdy YO!
I'm trying to figure this out (via Google) but all I'm finding are right-wing blogs spouting hate for Couric, (vilifying her for being part of "the Liberal media".)
I take it from your posting she recently interviewed Dubya or Limbaugh but didn't put either on the hot seat?

Diversity, independence, innovation and imagination are progressive concepts ultimately alien to the conservative mind.

YO Chippewa:
Couric is going to have, along with Bush, Roosh Limpbatt for her evening news launch. Don't know if she's interviewed the dynamic duo or not. But CBS is touting her having them on, along with Cronkite. Don't know if they'll all be on the premiere broadcast tomorrow evening or not, either.
I made the mistake, when writing my rant about Couric having on Limpbatt, that the show was this evening. It's on Tuesday evening.
I hope that Couric would throw some hardball questions at Limpbatt, as well as G. War. But I doubt that will happen. There isn't anyone who has balls enough to really go after G. War, except journalists who aren't allowed on most major media outlets.
As far as the rightwing bloggers are concerned: Katie Couric is about as much a liberal as Donald Trump is a socialist.
I don't read much the jerk-off rightwing bloggers have to say. They live to close to that anti-universe from which G. War pontificates.
