I don't see Filthy complaining about being misrepresented. If Filthy does think so, than he should "specifically" explain how he was. People really should let other people speak for themselves.
Heh, da filth doesn't care. Conjectures are not facts; merely guesses -- some educated; some of dubious value. None worth anything unless given evidential support.
Unlike the God and the Flying Spagetti Monster, et al, the BB now has enough observable evidence in it's favor that it has reached the hypothesis stage. Where it goes from there is anyone's, well, conjecture.

1. The bible says that the bible is true.
2. The bible predicts that there will be things outside the bible which are false.
3. Case closed. Goto 1.
Why didn't I think of that? I can't believe there are so many people of other religions, or without religions, who just can't see this.

Neither Hamas nor Hizbollah nor the Taliban look like sheep on the outside to me, so those can't be the people you are referring to.
On the other hand, we have evangelical Christians who preach love and understanding: they say they are "compassionate conservatives", but have no problem OKing death sentences and starting wars of aggression against other countries. Then we have catholics bombing shopping malls and and while claiming sanctity of life force young women carry pregnancies to full term against their will even though they were brutally raped. And protestants bombing abortion clinics and maiming and beat up doctors and personnel that work there.
Those are the wolves in sheep clothing, who preach peace and love thy neighbour but doesn't give a shit about what they teach others.

God-boy again proves he's a sanctimonious idiot. A liar in this "I don't really read" thing, too methinks.
The plain fact of the matter is that God-boy was caught red-handed lying. He won't apologize. He misquoted Filthy, who is too kind to complain. But the rest of us aren't happy to see anyone misquoted. Well, to Hell with that lying weasel. He's lost any remaining ability to be taken seriously.
Were I his pastor, I sure would try to restrain this boy's relatively disastrous attempts in the already pathetic field of Christian apologetics. He's shown constant and transparent mendacity, willful stupidity, la-la-la-I-can't-hear-you ignorance, smug bigotry, intolerable arrogance -- and to top it all off with a bright red maraschino, he seems proud of this demonstration! Amazing!

Forgive me, but I don't recall what GeeMack said a couple of pages back, profound though I'm sure it was. Were I a more ambitious man, I suppose I'd look it up. But at the moment, I am swamped with other, more pressing look-ups.
How hard is it to review the science? If I were going to argue the Big Bang from a creationist stance, that's the first thing I'd do. Then I'd go to the apologists such as AiG, see what they have to say, and then compare it to that science. From there, I'd make the decision as to jumping in at The Bad Astronomer's place, or here, and get the guns a'blazin' -- or abandoning the whole thing as a bad and possibly embarrassing idea.
GK, I really don't understand why you refuse to respond to some of our members. Sure, they've offended you, but here, you can simply offend in return and no less will be thought of you.

Given his track record, don't expect it either. He's a spoiled kid who believes he's found The Truth(tm). As long as he believes he's orbiting around the centre of the universe he'll be impervious to logic. |

Both popsicle sticks and computers are totally dependent on time because there was a "time" when neither existed. But an eternal God or eternal non-living things are not dependent on time because they had no beginning and therefore time is irrelevant in regards to their existence.
The complexity of anything does not depend on time. Eternal energy is not dependent on time. Eternal popsicle sticks either. Eternal anything! That is the defintiion of eternal. Big Whoo! Not important and not in anyway related to complexity.
Maybe you have existed for all of "time" GK, can you disprove that you haven't (maybe reincarnated snice the "beginning" that never was and doomed to complete endless reincarnations in a matrix of your own making where all players including me and all others are products of your infinite expansive mind. Or maybe it is mine. Maybe I am the one! Well if is not me then it has to be you!
If you see the fallicy in my above argument then you see the fallicy in yours. Now, address the real point.
Why would complexity depend in any way upon time (except that generally it takes more time to make more complexity, a principle that works in my favor not yours)? |

To me, the amount of energy needed to create 10 billion trillion of those suns (stars) would indeed be incredible.(Maybe not to you, but you have the right to your opinion)...
The size, the amount of energy/matter and the age of the universe is almost unimaginable. When I look up at the stars I am always in awe. I see stars, nebula and galaxies but no matter how hard I look I never see any gods or a need for any...
And you never will see God (the father). According to mainline Christianity God (the father) is Spirit. Genesis 1 vs.2
Christ said the Kindom of God does not come thru observation, but is within you.
And as Helen Keller said, the most beautiful things in life are not seen.
This is a lie.
Genesis 12:7 And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.
Genesis 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him....
Genesis 18:1 And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre.
Genesis 26:2 And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of.
Genesis 26:24 And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not.
Genesis 32:30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
Genesis 35:9 And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram, and blessed him.
Genesis 48:3 And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan.
Exodus 3:16 The LORD God ... appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you.
Exodus 4:5 That they may believe that the LORD God ... hath appeared unto thee.
Exodus 6:3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob....
Exodus 24:9-11 Then went up Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel. And they saw the God of Israel ... They saw God, and did eat and drink.
Exodus 33:11 And the Lord spake to Moses face to face, as a man speaketh to his friend.
Exodus 33:23 And I will take away my hand, and thou shalt see my backparts.
Numbers 14:14 For they have heard that thou Lord art among this people, that thou Lord art seen face to face.
Deuteronomy 5:4 The Lord talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire.
Deuteronomy 34:10 And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face.
Judges 13:22 And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.
1 Kings 22:19 I saw the Lord sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
Job 42:5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.
Psalm 63.2 To see thy power and they glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
Isaiah 6:1 In the year that King Ussiah died, I saw, also, the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up.
Isaiah 6:5 For mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
Ezekiel 1:27 And saw ... the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward....
Ezekiel 20:35 And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face.
Amos 7:7 The LORD stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand.
Amos 9:1 I saw the Lord standing upon the altar: and he said, smite the lintel of the door, that the posts may shake.
Habakkuk 3:3-5 God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran .... He had horns coming out of his hand.
Matthew 18:9 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
As I said before, Mainline Christianity believes God is spirit. The writers of the Old Testament said God "spoke" around 3000 times. Does that mean God has vocal cords. I truely believe that the many writers in the Bible did actually sense audible words; and that any experience they had, whether it was audible or visual, did come from God. I do not believe God (the father) exists in human form (like Joseph Smith the founder of the Morman religion did) but once again it could be possible to have a visual or audible experience that comes from God. So when I said you never will see God (the Father) I meant you will not see the totality of God. You might see or hear a manifestation of Him. I don't believe the many writers in the bible were lying. They definitely had a perceptional experience that came from God.
So your weaseling. You see a visual expression of an apple. Do you see it completely? What about the atoms? What about the seeds? What about the origins, the tree? I verily say to you GK that you will never see* an apple.
*By the word see I mean, anything and everything that would possibly refute any argument you could ever develop because my definition of the word see is made up by me ad hoc. |
