YO: Bush Administration confidant Pastor Ted Haggard fesses-up this weekend to being a closeted gay man for most of his adult life. I was touched by the CNN video I saw today showing the sorrow and regret of some of the members of his New Life Church in Colorado Springs. It showed some of them with tears in their eyes, speaking words of forgiveness and how great Reverend Haggard is for stepping forth in such a painful act of contrition. Yes, it was touching to see the pain of Pastor Ted's faithful flock.
Now, if Brother Ted could just get them to forgive others NOT in their church who also lead homosexual and bi-sexual lives, they'd be on their way to knowing a Jesus kind of Christianity.
Amen? Say Hallelujah?

Then, again, Clinton was not in the midst of a campaign to deny access by his fellow citizens to chubby young women.

YO, Gorgo: Is your point that Clinton is not any better-valued to be president than Haggard?
And, one more thing: is your online name here pronounced with soft G's or hard G's...or both...in each syllable?
"G's" are likely the most difficult for correctly assuming how they sound in a name. Sometimes they can be silent; sometimes like an "H," sometimes like the French Z-J sound as in the name Giselle.
Even the "G" in MY online name uses a different sound than anything listed above.
Give us something clear this time, Gorgo.

Mrs. Betty Bowers' take on it: quote: Mrs. Betty Bowers' Words of Christian Concern for Ted Haggard's Delicious Disgrace Dear Brothers and Sisters in Delighted Snickers:
I suspect that this will be a rather uncomfortable weekend at the Ted Haggard tax-free mansion. You see, Reverend Haggard is a vociferous spokesperson against gay marriage and, until yesterday, his wife probably had no idea she was actually in one.
As we all know, or will soon find out, the esteemed Mrs. Bowers is the World's Best Christian.

My point was absurdity for absurdity's sake. How you pronounce things is up to you. The way I pronounce it is Gorgo. |

My guess is that whenever Haggard finally meets with his friend James Dobson, Dobson will sit him down and ask: "So, what's it like? You know, doin' meth and having anal sex? 'Cause I've always been curious..." |

He admits nothing, claims to not know the guy. He admits making the guy's acquaintance, buying meth but never using it and no gay sex....
As if one couldn't see it coming, the full confession, forgive me Lord for I have sinned comes out today.
quote: "I am guilty of sexual immorality ... I am a deceiver and a liar. There is a part of my life that is so repulsive and dark that I've been warring against it all of my adult life," Haggard said in the letter, which was reads by a church overseer during a Sunday morning service.
"... from time to time, the dirt that I thought was gone would resurface, and I would find myself thinking thoughts and experiencing desires that were contrary to everything I believe and teach," he said.
Clearly if you happen to be gay and brought up to hate your sinful self for it, it really really messes your head up. I hope they have this guy on a suicide watch.

Yet he really admits to nothing except that he has sinned. And he kept asking the Lord for help, and no help was given. Amazing. What happened to God here? I thought religion was such a help to people. |

Gorgo, read the confession. He admits to "sexual immorality", "some but not all" of what the accuser claims, "giving in to his dark side" and on and on.
If you think that isn't some guy admitting gay sex then you are being a bit too literal here. |

YO: BETTY BOWERS FOR PRESIDENT...I say.
And: spelling the name "Gorgo" doesn't get it when describing its pronunciation using just symbols without benefit of sound.
Does the "G" in the first syllable in your online name sound like (choose one of the following)the "G" in the word "gourd" or the word "giant?" And the same question goes for the second syllable in your name.
When I post something for you in the future, I want to make sure that I'm pronouncing your name correctly in my head. I have this thing about saying things, even to myself, correctly. It's very anal of me, I know.
Thanks and OY! |

Exactly - when Canadian Energy Dufus Minister Rona Ambrose apointed a fomrer Focus on the Family nitwit president as her head of staff, Comedian Rick Mercer commented that these people (Focus on the Family) think about gay sex more than gay people do. (See Rant for Week of October 10, 2006 |

There's the problem, you see. You're using the wrong part of the anatomy.
Hard G's, man. That's all tough guys like me use. I don't use words with no soft G's. |
