Arab countries mull nuclear cooperation

RAW STORY
Published: Sunday December 10, 2006

Al Jazeera is reporting that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), a six country alliance that includes Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman, are now considering working together to acquire and share nuclear technology.

The program is not being kept secret because, the GCC says, the technology will be used for peaceful means only.

However, some see this as a move to counter Iran's nuclear ambitions, which western nations and neighboring countries fear might include an atomic bomb.

Orwellingly Yurz sez: How I Stopped Worrying And Learned To Love The Bomb is the best advice Dr. Strange Love has for us on this.

Looks like Israel will soon have some nuclear "brothers" in the hood.

Well we all knew it would happen. Man is bound to destroy himself one day. Why not tomorrow?

I say go for it.

The less oil the arab countries spend on producing electricity, the more oil will be left for me to fill up my car. That is, as long as it's not more economic for me to switch to ethanol.

It's bloody hypocritical to have nukes yourselves and then demand that other countries may not have them. Especially now, then USA is waging a war of aggression against an arab nation. I hope Sweden starts building nukes soon to, so we bomb Washington, New York, and Philly of you decide to come after us...
