For those who dont know, James Brown was a freaking genius, with over 100 hit singles he is the most prolific artist in the last century. Dont hold him to the cartoonish image he received late in life as his music inspired millions upon millions.
If you cant get his 71 song box set make sure you get his greatest hits and the JB's Anthology at least. Transcendant stuff I tells ya.

To be fair, James Brown drew that cartoonish image pretty much on his own. But image and all, James Brown was a dynamo of energy, good vibes, and entertainment, whose sojourn on this planet I will sorely miss.

And as I get into my car today, to take the dog to the vet just six hours ago, I learn for the first time of the death of Gerald Ford. I've really gotta turn the news on more often, instead of just watching endless episodes of Mythbusters and Dirty Jobs. |
