Orwellingly Yurz Sez: Little Rock! We have a problem!
Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul and Mary wrote and sang a great piece on his "Paul &" album of several years back. The title of it was, "Meanings Will Change."
The Little Rock vote against a Thomas Paine Holiday Day in Arkansas shows so-called modern conservatives continuing to re-write a major tenet in the founding of the US, while so called more liberal and progressive politicians are working to maintain, or conserve the concepts of men who were at the forefront of establishing this republic. Thomas Paine was surely one of them as much as Jefferson, Adams and Washington were.
There is a very big and vital forest unseen by today's neocons as they gaze upon but the very few trees of theocracy standing right in front of their noses.
The weeds of theocracy bear a very bitter fruit and the orchards of such vegetation put us all at great peril.
Double OY!
