Well, I'm about to begin playing "Myst III, Exile". I replaced my slow and undersized laptop a few weeks ago with a kick-butt Pentium 4, 1.4 GHz machine, so games are back in favor. I loved Myst when I played it a few years ago, although my language-oriented brain had difficulty with the visual puzzles initially. However, when I got the hang of it and finally solved it and went on to Riven, I was able to reach the proper end of that game in fairly quick order.
This detour into the game will likely explain my sporadic attention to the boards in the near future.
Anyone else like these games or ones like them?

I liked the first Myst, but just could never get into the second one. Maybe my computer was too slow. It seemed to take forever to go from frame to frame. As far as computer games go, I like the Might and Magic series. This computer is too screwed up to play any games on anymore, but my husband has shipped his stuff, and I'll be back in the game! Lisa

I loved Myst. Played it on my sister's computer around when it first came out. Was able to eventualy complete it without any help! Riven on the other hand.... Now that was a tough one.. Definitly needed hints for that one. Some of the clues were just so damn subtle.
Good luck with Exile. I might pick it up when it's available for PS2, my computer is a mere 400 mhz

Went in to the game just long enough to get a feel for the first world and a couple of the puzzles. Fantastic graphics! You can scan 360 degrees and up/down at just about any point (kind of makes you dizzy, in a way). I think it will be as fun as the first two games; it also has that eerie music and a bright sunny sky like some of the worlds in Myst and Riven.
I would do more tonight, but it's been a LONG week and I'm whipped, so after a good snooze, I'll jump back in.

Those games are fun, but I go for real-time strategy games like Age of Kings. What a workout!
