Overtly religious plates haven't been targeted obviously. This is brazen favortism and hypocrisy. The Florida DMV might plead that nobody has complained about all the Jesus plates. Florida freethinkers should remedy that.
If it were up to me, someone would also alert the Central Command at Homestead Air Force Base that there is a major nest of Taliban holdouts right in their own backyard.

So now Megan will want a new plate for her car, right?

I think the Florida DMV is opening up a can of worms. The 'Atheist' plate has to go because of a petition signed by 10 people? It only takes 10 people to be offended by something to get the heave-ho? I noticed 'GOD4ALL' is on "ATHEIST''s side. As well he should be. He can see the writing on the wall.

You've got to be kidding me. How do they think that this is legal. Are we going to outlaw "Buddist" too. I don't understand how the name of a belief system can be offensive. Well I don't think much else needs to be said. This is just plain ignorant.

I'd love to see that.
I see religious plates all the time. I'm not offended, I just think they're silly. However, if I had a cool plate like that guy has, and a bunch of Grundies took action againt me, I think I'd have to take some action back. Florida freethinkers have a real opportunity to show this sort of idiocy can go both ways.

That would be fun too. Too bad people get a little antsy about martial law. BTW, Homestead is an ANG base now. We decided we didn't want it back after hurricane Andrew damn near blew it off the map.

Gosh I just love living in this state. We have specialty plates that say "Choose Life." We have town legislatures that vote to ban Satan. Now we have government entities that are upset that one person uses a state-issued medium to display a word that actually says nothing. I guess they stuck NASA here so we could have some rational thinkers in this shithole.

Atheism isn't a belief system. It's at least the lack of the belief in god or gods.

Ya know, I see bumper stickers constantly that range from mildly humorous to really distasteful, and dumb things like pickup trucks with beer stickers and gun racks not there because the guys hunt constantly (ya, I think that's childish and dumb.) None of it offends me because I don't take little things very seriously, but it's weird that such people aren't raising hell about that kind of stuff, and something as petty as a license plate offends them. What's the problem?

A recent update: He fought it and is going to keep the plate.

It seems that of the 10 names on the petition, only a few were ledgable and when attempts were made to contact them were unsuccessful.

I'll try and find the link.

Here we go...

Seems that they're going to check out all vanity plates.

The plate on my scungy, old Harley reads: FILTHY. I've been asked if I would sell it.

What do you expect from a state where many (excluding, of course, our illustrious FL SFN members) can't even put a round peg through a round hole?

Do you think they'd ban CHAD too?
