As a lot of you have probably noticed I have been making a lot of changes to SFN and was hoping to get some feedback. A lot of the changes are only design but some of them are major changes to the interface in the hopes of making things easier. Does anyone find it easier to navigate and find posting options etc?
I also removed the calendar from the main forum page in the hopes of speeding up the download of that page. The events are still there(events link on top and calendar on the home page) and could be put back if everyone wants it but it is a lot of code and some additional hits on the database. Does the main forum page seem to load faster?
I also changed the login/logout for mostly aesthetic reasons

The only thing I've noticed is that when responding to a topic I generally hit the post new topic button at the bottom of the page. I think that the post new topic is great at the top under the forum folder, but is it necessary under each individual folder inside the forum? Minor really - I will eventually get used to finding the Reply to Topic button.

You know, I keep doing the same damn thing! I have been considering moving the reply icon to the far left where bookmark is and my hand goes to click initially. I think that would be better than having it in the middle as it is now.
I have been checking the loading of the main forum page and without the calendar it does seem to load up faster.

Hey, @tomic, got a couple of questions for you. They may or may not be connected to what you're doing, but I doubt it.
Anyway, whenever I post a message, I get the "thank you for posting, etc." message, and then, instead of going to the thread where my latest post is, it just shows the header and the footer and that's it. Yes, I do have an ad blocker running, AdSubtract Pro, but I have it set up to skip this site. Other than the cookies, which are needed, there's nothing to block. Heck, I have it off now and I'm still having problems with the site. The other problem I'm having is that whenever I go and click on the icon legend button, I get nothing.
Oh, sure. Now it works. *rolls eyes*
In that case, @, I'll send a message to you next time it happens.
I think you'd better check something, @tomic. Whenever I post and use either HTML or Forum Code, I end up with what's described above. If I don't use any, I'm fine. Any clue what's going on?

Actually the code and html is still supposed to be off due to that security problem and I accidently turned it back on. I had been monkeying with the code for html and forum code trying to fix the problem but to no avail. For now I have turned the forum code and html off. Do you still have that problem?

I don't have the ability to log in or out. I have to do that each time I post messages. I'm automatically logged in on my computer at home, but not at work, but I can't log out. Is that part of what you shut off?

No, nothing should have been altered for login/out except for where it is located. I have had reports from various Snitz sites that there are login/out problems. Try to find any SFN cookie, there may be 2 and try to login on the homepage outside the forum directory. That may help. But I haven't had any problems logging in and out and I've used several test accounts with different access levels.

That's it. Thanks. I wish every forum used this software.

The upcoming version of Snitz is doing some major changes to the cookies. One of the best is that cookie data will be encrypted so that it's not super easy for someone to read what's in them as it is now. Open your cookie and take a look. Your login and password are quite available.

<font color=white>They just made a very nice nod to John Schneider's old series, Dukes of Hazard, when they played the theme song in a scene at the beginning of tonight's episode.</font color>
Guess not.

official feedback, @tomic:
I really like the streamlined look...good work. Only thing is, I kinda liked having the logon/logoff option on the "Active Topics" page.

Yeah I was thinking of that, too. I'm just not done with it all and haven't had a chance to get to everything.
But thanks for the comments
