Dave, you have evidence that DNA information has been increased due to mutations?

What a man believes upon grossly insufficient evidence is an index into his desires -- desires of which he himself is often unconscious. If a man is offered a fact which goes against his instincts, he will scrutinize it closely, and unless the evidence is overwhelming, he will refuse to believe it. If, on the other hand, he is offered something which affords a reason for acting in accordance to his instincts, he will accept it even on the slightest evidence. The origin of myths is explained in this way. - Bertrand Russell |

There is discussion in science as to whether oil is produced from dead things. We do not know if we are using them faster than they are being created.

""We have determined that Titan's methane is not of biologic origin," reports Hasso Niemann of the Goddard Space Flight Center, a principal NASA investigator responsible for the Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer aboard the Cassini-Huygens probe that landed on Titan Jan. 14."
If methane is not biological, than it is logical to concluded that oil may also not be biological in origin.

And when you quote wingnut daily, it doesn't help your cause.
World Net Daily is a known religious advocacy site that continually presents fringe ideas as mainstream, fabricates entire stories out of wholecloth, and generally misrepresents every non-Christian religion, agnosticism, and atheism.
Take a look at the About page for the site. Then research the administration. You'll find strong links to extremist sects of Christianty. Add in the serious journalistic fabrications and you have an unreliable source.

I quoted a NASA scientist. When one discounts information that one does not what to face one is not skeptical.
|
I have discounted it due to the nature of WND's penchant for taking valid sources out of context. |

What is the answer? Your assumption as to how the question was formed is irrelevant. I am not claiming the earth as a closed system.

The quote from NASA is relevant. I care not what the articles conclusions are. Are you suggesting that the quote is wrong?

Changing the talk again? Why do you accept the ability of mutations to increase genetic data(very complex), at the same time discounting the ability of abiotic processes to create petrol(when we have examples of this sort of thing happening)?

Calling Jerome a colossal idiot may have been (and I apologize) something of an understatement.

You claim that there are examples of that "sort of thing" happening, but have provided no evidence at all of any natural, abiotic process creating hydrocarbons with between five and 12 carbon atoms (the bulk of what's in gasoline), but have only provided an example of a single-carbon molecule being abiotically created (and you even had to go off-planet to find it, despite it happening right here on Earth, too).
There is no evidence that abiotic processes have the ability to create petrol. Thus, there are no facts to be discounted. The possibility that abiotic processes might create multi-carbon hydrocarbons is a hypothesis, not a fact.
So for the fourth time: what fact(s) have I discounted? Be specific.
By the way,Why do you accept the ability of mutations to increase genetic data... | That assumes, without evidence in any statement of mine, that I accept such a thing.
Why is it, Jerome, that you accept things as facts when you have no evidence? |

Especially in the light that we have provided one very explicit and very well documented case* of it happening. Jerome simply didn't want to acknowledge that example because I guess that would disrupt the fantacy world he lives in. And now, instead, he changes the subject to avoid having to answer the question(s).

Was genetic data increased? This is the question we are currently talking about.
