Ok, yeah, that's really funny. I like the whole "white-haired dude" being compared to the Crypt Keeper. And then the launch into actual energy policy. Really well done. |

Look at that link; it turns out that McCain's people are using Paris' add to attack Obama anyway, even though she's made fun of McCain. They say she's got a more in-depth energy policy than Obama. They say that McCain supports both drilling and the offshore oil exploration.
Yet the add that started this off was one that criticized Obama because he was a "celebrity".
Anyone have any idea what the hell either guy's energy policy truly was before this bs came along?

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

I still don't know what their energy policies are. Hilton's outline sounded good though....

Dude.....
I still don't know what their energy policies are. | Here's an outline of Obama's:Barack Obama's Plan 1. Reduce the Burden of Rising Gas Prices on Working Families 2. Crack Down on Excessive Energy Speculation 3. Enact a Windfall Profits Tax on the Top Grossing Oil Companies 4. Require Oil Companies to Use Existing Drilling Leases: 5. End Oil and Gas Industry Tax Breaks: 6. Cooperate with Oil Importing Nations to Reduce Demand: 7. Reduce Carbon Emissions 80 Percent by 2050 8. Invest in a Clean Energy Future 9. Support Next Generation Biofuels 10. Set America on Path to Oil Independence 11. Improve Energy Efficiency 50 Percent by 2030 12. Restore U.S. Leadership on Climate Change | Details and specific methods of implementation are here!
All I know of McCain's position is that he feels that allowing oil companies unlimited exploration, drilling, tax breaks and subsidies will solve our energy problems almost immediately! |

Well, I'd vote for Paris before I would McCain. Hell, I'd vote for her before I would most any of the clowns in the Republican Criminal Conspiracy Party. She'd add a little pretty to the White House, if nothing else. I like that sort of pretty.
McCain went to the Sturgis Rally, it seems. There, he made a suck-up speech to a bunch of bikers in which he all but volunteered Cindy for the Buffalo Chip titty show. Obviously, he has never seen one of these things, else he'd not have done it. I think. Maybe. Or maybe he's abusive enough that he likes the idea. After all, he did call her a cunt that time, and it's reasonable to assume that it was not the first.
Like many of the old-timers, I seldom go to those things any more, and now that cheap politicians are trying to use them to further their careers, I may not bother to go again.

| You know what's interesting to me? And I never really got it. Bikers in these parts, including the Hells Angels, seem to be conservatives. I don't mean the "weekend warriors" who trade in their suits for a sleeveless denim and ride around on Harley's as a hobby. (My guess is they are mostly conservatives too.) But I have known several Angels and, if they were inclined to vote, which is probably unlikely, based on conversations (debates) I have had with them, they would vote republican. (Maybe these days libertarian, I dunno.)
I have speculated that being a real badass has something to do with it, and they see republicans as being more badass than the democrats, but I don't know.
If I am not making a hasty generalization, and I might be, that could be why McCain would want to woo them.
Filthy, does that make any sense to you?

Kil....
I think you are dead-on with respect to the Angels, or Angel wannabe badass bikers, I owned a bike shop (Honda, Kawasaki) for a long time, and although our franchise was Japanese, we got a lot of older Harleys in trade for cars (used) or the larger Jap bikes that were just coming on the market. I dealt with a lot of Harley types for years.
My experience with down and dirty Harley riders is... absolutely about 90% Republican! I think Filthy is a marvelous exception to the "rule"! |

Dude, thanks for spoiling my day.
Now here's a woman whom I've picked upon in the past as being a privileged jerk, saying hilarious and even wise things. If only she were running against McCain, I'd vote Hilton for President. If she were old enough.

Filthy, does that make any sense to you? | Yes, definatly. But it might be a little different this year as it sinks into some of those boneheads as to who is responsible for the mess we're in. But it still doesn't seem likely that even this will get many of them to the polls -- which is why we should support Paris for the Democratic nomination. She'd bring 'em out!
Most of the Angels and other 1% club members I've known, and still ride with occasionally, aren't very civic-minded, even though some of them are professional people. They have a mind-set that is concentrated upon the bike and the virtual secret society that is the club -- you think Skull & Bones is tough to get into? Try prospecting for Angel. Or Pagan or Iron Horseman, or 'most any of the others. In short, they actually live it rather than just try and show it off at the parties and the local bars. Which I find amusing, by the bye; trying on the weekend to become a sterotype of something they'd avoid like the dreaded drip come Monday morning.

I thought, based on media reports, that most Hells Angels were criminals, controlling drugs and prostitution and other bad stuff. Are you saying that may not be true? I can't imagine that most prople would want to join such a club.
P.S. I promise not to hijack this thread any further.

P.S. I promise not to hijack this thread any further. | It depends on the club and indeed, the chapter, but, yes. A large percentage of 1%-ers do engage in criminal activities -- stop looking at me like that!
What must be remembered is that these people live the bike and the patch. Their sole loyalty lies only there. Indeed, in the bylaws of most if not all of them is written to the effect that if a member is in a fight with a non-member, all members present will participate. Thus, if someone in the club/chapter is dealing, he will be supported by the other members regardless if they have no share of the action beyond his dues. But of course, they too, would most likely be in on the gaff.
Think of it as you might think about the truly dedicated, religious fundamentalists. It's actually the same mindset: us against everyone else.
