That's a pretty impressive list.

I am not familiar with the McCain from before his nomination but the flavour I am seeing these days has seen all of his honour and ethic mutated by the Rovian virus.

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.
Carl Sagan - 1996

While I don't regularly hit the right wing blogs and other media outlets all that much, but from what I've seen they don't seem to be hitting Obama with the liar tag all that much.

In general, their hits are are along the lines of what the McCain camp has been saying: that he's too inexperienced, or that he's too much of a celebrity. You'll also get the he's-a-Muslim or he's-a-socialist smears, but not as much.

So my guess is that if there is a site devoted to Obama's obvious lies, it won't be that big else the right wing media types would have picked up on it.

They are both politicians, so I bet it will be pretty close in number. I'm more interested in the content of the lies. Some lies are worse than others, like "I did not have sex with the woman" < "There are WMDs in Iraq"

The counter was at 51 when I found it this morning. I was going to post it here, but forgot.

I really don't want to keep track of it.....

OK, well look around if you like. There's always Factcheck, which is a non-partisan group that checks the accuracy of ads and other campaign stuff.

If you look at their most recent postings (as of today), almost all address McCain lies.

There are also campaign statements that start with "we propose to..." or - "when elected, I will strive to bring...". These are not lies but promises that the candidate will try to do it. Aside from peppering blatant promises (i.e. "when elected we WILL do that...") a politician may really want to get all the promises fulfilled knowing they will fail on some and compromise on a chunk of them.

I think the Republicans have more lies-of-distortion than Democrats, and McCain/Palen will simply lie over and over, Hitler style in front of their low-information hardcore supporters.

Diversity, independence, innovation and imagination are progressive concepts ultimately alien to the conservative mind.

YO: Going one step further that Chippy just above this post: I think maybe the media orgasm for Sarah Plain and John McSame may ease off some now. I think much of the constant repetition of Mrs. Plain's stump speech (nearly verbatim in every venue) with which we've been inundated stems from the hope, on the part of the Bill Kristolytes, that the dummies who buy into her preveracations will only be watching Fixed News minus, of course, their needed come back on the untruthiness of her oratory.

Obama is trying something unheard of in Western Civilization: winning a major white-skinned national election with skin a darker shade of pale. When you put all the anti-intellectuals and racists in the US in one bunch, you've damned near got a majority.

As someone stated the other day, "What we need is a wise leader, not a good soldier. John McSame, I think, was a good soldier, and, although that's to be lauded, that's also about it.

No mention of his Keating Five history yet. Depends on how ugly the Grand Oil Party wants to get, I suppose.
