Unfortunately just one highly motivated nut job can probably still do a lot of damage in todays world. Hope it does not happen....but he will have to be extra cautious.
|
Indeed but I'd hope the secret service to be, at least, that smart.
On an unrelated note: he too is counting the days.... |

Watch for some preemptive pardons as another part of Bush's "transition" activity. The list of Administration officials to be pardoned may be obscenely extensive, and even include the first-ever "pardon me," where Bush pardons himself. (Betcha there are going to be some crooked preachers on that list, too.)

Or, and perhaps best yet: Obama could catch the 7.65X39mm ill-tempered argument. It could be blamed on the Klan, or some other batch of Hitler wannabes that everybody else loaths, and give Bush a chance to flex his muscles, thereby pumping up McCain as he now runs against Biden.

You can be quite sure it will be attempted after the election.....and possibly by a real klan member. It's one of my wife's biggest fears. She thinks the country will rally around Obama only to see him killed....bringing an even darker cloud over this nation.
| Has it already begun? 75-year-old Wade Williams, arrested Wednesday morning, was angry that he hadn't yet received his voter registration card. According to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office, Williams threatened a state official over the phone that he would "empty his shotgun," stating an urgent need to vote to "keep the nigger out of office." On the way to be booked at the Ouachita Correctional Center, Williams reportedly "continued his 'tirade' about niggers and also stated that he had a shotgun, but had hidden it at his residence." | Dunno if this moron is Klan or not, but he shows the same mind-set: a combination of irrational hatred and it's accompanying stupidity.

Odd that you said that:
The stunning debut novel from the star of "Star Trek: The Next Generation". The United States of 2019 is a very different place. Economic depression, an enormous earthquake, and the assassination of a black President-elect have turned the country into a war zone. Four people, each as different and troubled as the next, are the nation's last hope. But can they overcome the devastation and build a new world? |

Cool! We are in advance on the program.
Maybe that means that the 'making out with green alien babes' will come earlier too! |

Check out this clip of McCain/Palin supporters as they wait in line to attend a political rally in PA. Sidewalk to Nowhere. They are every bit as stupid, ignorant, and hateful as feared. Maybe more so. And they all outwardly appear like average decent Americans. For instance, watch the nice gray-haired old man call a nearby group of protesters "commie faggots," or the sweet grandmotherly woman who unblinkingly decries Obama as a terrorist. Regular salt of the Earth, these folk.

| I think that in the long run, these pathetic lackwits will hurt McCain's chances with their disgusting behavior televised across the country.

Here are the latest tracking poll numbers. Obama has hit 7.6% overall. A week ago he as at around 5%. These numbers change even throughout the day, but breaking 7 is a big deal.
RealClearPolitics Poll Averages
Also, Virginia has been moved from "toss up" to "leaning Obama" which changes the Electoral Map in a very significant way. Obama leads there by 5.6% which is more than the margin of polling error.
Note: Minnesota has moved from solid Obama to leaning Obama. I hate when that happens...
RealClearPolitics Electoral College
If things keep moving this way, we could see double digits overall by the end of next week. Also, I have heard more than a few conservative pundits say the party is over and Obama will win.
Don't pop your corks yet. Double digits are what Obama needs, I think. What is significant is that Obama seems to own the game now, and McCain is stuck in defense mode with few ways, or days to go...
Edited for accuracy.

I think Obama needs to be ahead in the polls by double the margin of error to counter the closet racism.
The polls also probably don't reflect younger voters very well, but since these asshats don't really ever vote it may not be an issue...
I'd like to see Obama with a 10-12point lead in FL, then I'll feel confident of him winning.

From what I heard; polls' reliability decrease when the polled person has a vested interest in one of the answer. For example if he is afraid of legal consequences or if he consider one of the answer 'shameful'. For example, if it might imply racism...
So, yeah, I am trying not to raise my hopes too much. |

True; but this two examples suggest that a candidate might loose as much as 11 points (9 for Clinton) until the elections. So, we are not safe yet...
Post-ABC polling, and it was as high as 19 points before the election, which he won by six points. In mid-October 1976, Jimmy Carter had leads as big as 13 points in Gallup polling; Carter defeated incumbent Gerald Ford by two points. |
I was surprise to read that 90% of pollees thought that the country was heading in the wrong direction. 90% is a lot. Less surprising is that most people see McCain as focussing on attacking Obama and avoiding the issues, this is also my personal feeling and that'd would explain why McCain is changing (once again) his strategy on the subject.
The guys seems so erratic, it's almost pitiful, a neo-con deer caught in the headlights of history...
