This was found at this woman's blog. Compliments of the Raytractors blog.
There's a lot more to this, but this kind of jumps out at me:
Yes my four year old daughter told me that the only person who would ever help her to be a good girl was Jesus Christ, because she could not do it on her own. I have never told her this. I would have thought this is too deep for a four year old to understand. That she was a sinner, she could not control her sinful nature. She wanted to be good but she could not, instead she did things that where wrong no matter how she tried to be good. Her theology is far deeper than that of many preachers today. I mean she gets it. It is only by the finished work of Christ on the cross that we can be delivered from sin. |
She is a wretched little girl, who knows she is a wretched sinner who needs only a good saviour to help her. Glory belongs to God! |
Yeah, she says that she doesn't teach her kid self-esteem earlier in her post. Holy shit. Well, that's true, for effing sure.
By the way, here's a link to what this same person things about slavery.

Amazing. She's partly right about one thing, a four-year-old's theology may not be deeper than a preacher's, but it is just as good as any preacher's. |

The woman from that blog is reaaaaally messed-up in the head! WTF! The things she says about slavery and the "role" of women in society! Veeeery screwed-up!

People like that shouldn't be allowed to have children. Very sad. |

Well; it is a pretty common view among Christians: 'We are all sinners and deserve to go to hell and only by asking Jesus Christ can we have or faults lifted from us and magically forgiven and avoid the punishment that we all so rightly deserve'.
This view might be a bit more prevalent among protestants than among Catholics which tend to have a bot more oriented vision of salvation but the kid is probably repeating an idea she heard elsewhere. That's mighty smart, however, for a 4 years old to grasp the idea and, to me, make her brain-washing all the sadder. |
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. Isn't that mental abuse? Can that be used as evidence for Social Services? |

Some good news. Someone's decided to do some legal things about this situation.

Ah, I see she's in the UK, so perhaps they don't have the laws we do in the U.S. that protect child neglect and abuse in the name of religion. |

They do not as far as I know; it is fairly typical of the US.
That being say; we don't really know what she means by that. Is she berating her child every night with a list of a misdeeds during the day; insisting about how she is a wretched sinner? Or is it just that, when her child ask her if she is behaving well she answers 'Well; you are not bad; but you did this and that today; and that's not good and you should work on this'.
There is a pretty strong difference about how the two will affect the development of the kid; I am convinced. All in all; I am very uncomfortable with seeking social service on a parent unless there is reasonable indications that the child health (physical or mental) is at risk and I don't think that there is such indications here. |

Sorry, I forgot about the registration thing:
UK readers: child abuse alert
by Roxburgh on Sat Nov 08, 2008 2:37 pm I am in the Uk. After speaking to someone on the NSPCC Helpline (National Society for the Protection of Children) I have forwarded the link to the blog , her email, her name and the names of the children, her location and a copy of the text of the blog to the NSPCC. This definitely comes under what the NSPCC and Lancashire District Council define as Emotional Abuse based on the Children's Act 1989.
I think there needs to be some restraint from people (from here and other places)in replying to the blog as she may twist it in her head that people are out to get her and this may be adverse to the welfare of the children, especially if she has been using physical punishment towards them. This is a bad bad situation, but not handled properly and through the right channels it could end up, as has happened in other similar cases, disastrously. |

That's great that someone took action, and that in the UK it's possible to at least try to resolve such abuse.
As a minor point, isn't it in the job description of all little kids to be "wretched"? I seem to recall that as being a major part of my duty at that age.

True. But what's your excuse at your current age?

Crap...look at the support she's getting for what she's doing to her kid! |

The word is spreading. Kind of...
I had posted that same link to a comment on Evolved Rational's site. She later posted about it, then later on, one of her readers looked at that same site and emailed her about another post Jean made, which ER blogged about here, then PZ Myers picks it up and blogs about it.
Sweet. |
