Ricky was onto the solution with the sum of great-circle distances squared, but he seems to have flagged after spotting errors in his code. I'll try my hand at coding up that method, but not tonight.| Oh and I picked Michael Jackson last year Dave, I'm calling a hit! |

My latest attempt gives 47.9746457,-172.63666933 for the earthquake, which is very different from what we've seen.
Edited to add that that point is about 300 miles almost due south of Seguam Island.
But the terror attack averages to 46.5323365,23.1245176 which is consistent with other methods.
Which is in the middle of the Apuseni Mountains in Romania. |
