ICR, in a sanctimonious spasm and whining like a short-changed whore, is little miffed about atheist displays being put up alongside nativity scenes. It seems to be happening here & there around the country. Indeed, my elder daughter is a member of American Atheist, NC, and they've put one up in Raleigh.
And the world has not ended; go figger. Atheists Get 'Shared Time' with Nativity Scene by Christine Dao* For not celebrating any “holy” days, atheist organizations seem especially vocal during the 2008 Christmas season.
The most recent in a series of anti-Christmas efforts is a campaign in Washington state, where a sign stating “There is only our natural world. Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds” appears near a nativity scene in the state Capitol.1 The Wisconsin-based Freedom from Religion Foundation (FFRF) put the ad up, along with a billboard in downtown Olympia that proclaims, “Reason's Greetings.”
FFRF co-president Dan Barker told the Associated Press, “Our members want equal time. Not to muscle, not to coerce, but just to have a place at the table.”2
| Hey, up yours, Chris. No more Mr. Nice & Silent Atheist. You've had your monopoly on the Solstice Season long enough. We're taking our share and I, for one, am not asking you to like it.

By applying O'Really's basic logic, I should be ashamed of myself for promoting Christianity by not throwing stones every time I pass a church. (Actually, I do feel some shame.)
Wasn't Festivus a character in the TV Series, "Gunsmoke"?
