This time, it was by an elderly couple who related a story of Holocaust romance. Whatever her better points, and she has some, Oprah Winfrey is a serial woo-enabler, repeatedly recommending books that later prove to be hoaxes.
Deborah E. Lipstadt, who makes it her business to go head-to-head with Holocaust deniers, has something to say about the damage that fake stories like this cause by giving credence to those deniers.
(Note that CNN.com, which has a business relationship with Oprah (who supplies them with fluff and woo for their "living" section), did not leave the Lipstadt article linked to their main page for long.)
