Remember the PBS program called Woodwright's Shop? Haven't seen it myself for several years now. Maybe it's still running in different markets. Good to see there's several past shows that are now available with on-line video streaming.

If you view just one, better check this one out....number 2612.
"Old Woodworking Machines - Beautiful belt-driven nineteenth century machines still make window sashes in this New York shop."

Quite amazing to see belt-driven technology still up-and-running these days.

The Woodwright's Shop still airs on PBS (analog tv) on Saturday afternoons in North Carolina. I caught the tail end of it yesterday.

Brother, You say there is but one way to worship and serve the Great Spirit. If there is but one religion, why do you white people differ so much about it? Why not all agree, as you can all read the book. -Sagoyewatha,(Red Jacket) - Chief and great orator of the six nations.

I see now it's in my market, but in the a.m....when I'm at work. Doofus time slot.

I've really enjoyed this simple program's efforts mostly for a bit of insight into my long dead grandparents lives. It sheds a bit of light into their past yesteryear world; which, of course, is gone forever. They, and untold millions, lived every day with this program's technology; for the most part that existed for several centuries.

Who knows...a hundred years from now, maybe some part of our day to day lives will be depicted by some quaint little TV program. Channel surfers may just yawn and pass on by.
And, so it goes.
