And since creationists reject textbooks full of good info, I doubt any museum in the world is large enough to assuage all of their doubts. |

Evidently, this goober doesn't seem to realize just how rare a 40% articulated skeleton is, especially of a primate.
Me, I'd happily fork over the double sawbuck just to see her "in person," as it were. I can ignore the extracurricular crap and feel no loss.

Oh my gosh. 40 percent complete (and by inference you get something more like 60 percent) is nothing short of astonishing. Also, there are no duplicate bones or bones of another size from the site which pretty much confirms that the bones called Lucy are from one individual.
Plus, Lucy is not the only example of Afarensis. Not by a long shot. She is just the most complete.

Just came across this fascinating but brief article on "The Ever Evolving Theories of Darwin". |
"We are all connected; to each other biologically, to the earth chemically, to the rest of the universe atomically."
"So you're made of detritus [from exploded stars]. Get over it. Or better yet, celebrate it. After all, what nobler thought can one cherish than that the universe lives within us all?" -Neil DeGrasse Tyson |

| Excellent. I was wondering how such a good, if brief, article on evolution could have been run in a popular magazine like Time. Then I saw the byline: Carl Zimmer!
