Don't look at me, I found this on an online archeological journal. Look at their main page if you don't believe me. Why a normally serious journal would publish a spoof article is beyond me. It's not even an April 1st publication date. The "Solanum" virus they talk about is fictional.

There's a lot of interesting lists on that cracked magazine site.

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.
Another example of this guy's lunacy here. |

Then again, Archeology appears to be the Scientific American of the archeological field, and so shouldn't be held to the same standards as a peer-reviewed journal should. Another story was "Bigfoot vs. Indiana Jones: Battle of the Century" (written by an undergrad intern), which was about a fight between an action figure and a LEGO minifig (respectively). Archeology is obviously no stranger to humor. |

I have and love that Zombie book, Dave.
Here's something, presumably real, along the general lines of the archaeological zombies. This article deals with another class of undead vampires.

Yeah; the book is great.
I have little concern about a journal publishing humor articles from time to time, until some nutjob roll with it as evidence of the reality of zombies from a peer reviewed journal... |
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.
