‘Slumdog Millionaire' has indeed taken the world by storm by winning eight Oscars. It's unthinkable that a bunch of young actors in the main roles could actually do so well, leaving behind many well known names. I know that most of them belong to India, but I would like to know more about them.

It wasn't actually those young actors that won the Oscars. It was the experienced crew that supported the actors.

True, indeed! The film ‘Slumdog Millionaires' deserved all the Oscars it won. Yes, you have it right. Most of the artistes in the film are Indians. To have more details about them, straightaway log on to www.woodenspears.com.

Do Elliott and Nathan share an IP address by any chance? Not to be cynical, but it's amazing how in the space of 3 posts, we have a brand-new member asking a non-skepticism question that was answered by another brand new member. I sure hope this whole exchange wasn't a choreographed bid to drive traffic to that website. But like I said, I'm probably just being cynical.

It might be a good idea to remove the link as well, especially if getting it up was the only goal. I mean, just temporarily until we hear the whole story.

I don't know, the posts are two days apart. If that's spam, I'm rather impressed by the commitment.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

Notice how Nathan's post isn't, or rather, could have been a response to me, if I had not pointed out Elliot's error regarding who actually won the oscars.
It looks almost like a pre-programmed resons.
The two day delay could easily be a spam-bot specific delay.

Yeah, I should have checked. That's good.

To seal the deal, we just got another post by a third new member from the same block of possibly-forged IP addresses, asking to know more about Oprah. With luck, we won't get the follow-up in two days.

Heh. I remember walking around downtown Cleveland one afternoon when I came to two men playing 3-card Monte. They were the worst actors I had ever seen. The exchange went something like this:

Guy 1: Hey, man, pick any of these three cards. If it's the red queen, you win $20.

Guy 2: Ok, that one.

Guy 1: Hey, it's the queen! You just won $20! Here's your money.

Guy 2: It's that easy?

Guy 1: It's that easy. [pretending to just notice my presence] Hey, kid, you want to make an easy $20?

Guy 2: Do it, man! I just won!

Me: You two wouldn't be in on this scam together by any chance, would you?

Them in chorus: [Ahem] Ah, um, er, wachu talkin' 'bout?

Me: I think I'll pass. And you guys really need to work on your act.

Now you don't even need a partner when pulling a scam, you can just play all the roles yourself on the internet using different screen names. Takes some of the inherent comedy out of it.

I don't think I'd want either of those stumblebums shilling my throw.

Throwing Three Card Monte

3 Card Monte is strictly a spectator sport unless you know how to read the "trick." Then you've got a slight chance of stinging the dealer, but you'll only get one shot at it. Hell, if you know the trick and have good hands, you should be throwing a game of your own.
