I sporadically try to get myself an avatar for these forums, but routinely fail for some reason.

Is there any way that some more computer-literate staff member could contact me? I'd email them a suitable picture for them to take care of, and we would all life happy ever after?

Thanks.

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

Have you tried uploading an avatar to your My Files for strorage?

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

Why not question something for a change?

I tired uploading it to a couple of hosting sites but I am not sure what is this 'My files' you are referring to? Is it an option on this site? I can't seem to find it...

Maybe this option is reserved for Staff members?

Hmmmm.. Maybe it's a moderator thing. Okay, the next step is to email Dave with your avatar.

Well, we know at least one part of the April Fools hoax wasn't completely fabricated.
As it was, I stayed pretty far away from the control panel, because in truth, I am a technical idiot.

Oh yeah. No joke there. As an administrator, I can do everything a moderator can do plus a few other menial tasks only. I can ban people, help people get registered and a few other things that come up. I can also do a lot of damage. I leave the technical stuff to the computer guys, Dave and @tomic.
