As we suffer a dearth of Hypocrisy fora, I felt compelled to put this'n in Humor.
Pope Benedict XVI has warned against the misuse of religion for political ends, in a speech to Muslim leaders on the second day of his visit to Jordan.

Speaking in the King Hussein Mosque in Amman, he argued that religion was a force for good, but its "manipulation" caused divisions and even violence.
But Benny, when was religion ever anything but a political tool? When has it ever been anything else? Read the history of your very own church, you confused, senile, old fart!

I think trying to convince Ratzi would be a waste of time. Because, having clawed himself to the top of the Church, he demonstrably already knows the ropes in Catholic hierarchical politics. If he didn't, he would not be Pope. What a -- as you noted -- hypocrite!

NPR reported this morning that yesterday, Bennie called for Jews and Muslims to join with his Catholics in a battle against increasing secularism.

In other words, he wants more theocracy. While he's warning against the misuse of religion for political ends.

You can't make this stuff up.
