Not quite sure how totake this.

Welcome to my Web site!
My name is Reynold. I created this site to try to show how much I loved Paula. She truly means the world to me and everyday I am without her I'm in so much pain. I know I have my limitations. These resent years have not been kind with my deteriorating vision, physical health issues, and mental health issues. Sometimes life is uncertain but I know that I will over come any hardship to make sure she is happy. I know my love for her will never die and with each day it will only grow stronger. I found the joy in my life and I just don't want to lose it.

Not laughing at the guy. If it's for real, he evidently has some issues.

I know it's hard for people to understand and even for you to understand just how much I love you. It's hard to grasp that I can't go on without you. I just hope you can try to understand because this is where I will stand and wait. Without you, I am as good as dead. I love you Paula, now and forever!

Did he just listen to too many sappy love songs or did his doctor tell him to write down his feelings?

Most likely a chemical imbalance in the brain.

I would rather face a cold reality than delude myself with comforting fantasies.

Romance is always dangerous, as it involves raw emotions which lie at the heart of our evolutionary heritage. Sometimes it's overblown, sometimes underblown. I've been on both sides of each extreme. My feeling is that both partners need some amount of romantic attachment, but if this is lopsided, or excessive, trouble will inevitably result.

I can't say if the obsessive love this fellow holds for his girlfriend is wrong, because I don't see the whole picture of how they interact. (For all I know, somehow his girlfriend uses his obsession to steer him toward sanity.) But my hunch is that a headline that includes the words, "Murder-Suicide" might lie in the future.

Reads like Paula decided to end the relationship and Reynold did not agree with the decision. Most of us have been there and since it has been 6 months since the last letter Reynold may have since realized that it is possible to move on.

The domain name expires this September, we can wait and see if he renews then.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

Seems like he is in the denial phase, with a hint of moving into the bargaining one (not that this system of looking at grief is without problems).

Hopefully, he will get over it and/or seek treatment. That's a bit creepy.

By the way, let me recommend, this book...

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.
Carl Sagan - 1996

Not me, eh?

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.

"Love is a many splendored thing," it is said. But in my experience, Love, True or otherwise, is a crock. A sense of common decency is vastly superior, as the link in the OP suggests. Reynold is walking around with spit on his chin, blindly running into doors -- who needs that? I opened that link, read the letter, and almost got diabetes!

But there is, perhaps, hope for the lad.
My name is Reynold. I created this site to try to show how much I loved Paula.
Note the past tense.

And now I must go flush the concentrated treacle out of my computer.

I'm more than a bit concerned for this guy's mental health and Paula's physical health.

Might be one of those "if I can't have you noone can" folks.

He (hopefully) might be over her. Or she might be missing and he's in jail.

Reynold might be a nome de plume for Drew Peterson. He's been recently arrested.
