There is a recent discovery illustrating a phenomenon that happened a few billion years ago.

Isn't evolution absolutely, amazingly, mind-blowingly cool?
Yes, yes it is. Thanks for asking.

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

But yeah, its still fascinating.

Ignorance is preferable to error; and he is less remote from the truth who believes nothing, than he who believes what is wrong.

Holy mother of all craps, that's really not recent.

I saw the article on Slashdot, assumed it was recent news and went to the original article. I thought have checked the date on the original article too...

Hey I just found out that some monkeys hunt with sharpened spears......so don't feel bad.

I would rather face a cold reality than delude myself with comforting fantasies.

You are free to believe what you want to believe and I am free to ridicule you for it.

And, apparently, the earth may not be at the center of the universe... Not sure I believe that one.
