Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. Ho, I do... There is even one episode with a quote from me (we did speak briefly about you, by the way, when I met them). |

Hmm, badastronomy was originally how I was introduced to SFN. Found BA when trying to find info on that horrible FOX show about how the moon landings were fake. |

Hi Trish. Same here for me too...stumbling in from the old board at Bad Astronomy. Those were the days. I still have the BA bio list of a lot of the posters there.
For a few of us, as I recall, SFN became a 'shelter' from the BA forum conspiracy nuts. Who was one of the worst...Piper? He'd post his Apollo/Fox nutcase junk and boast Phil Plait would soon be "flippin' burgers" after he was 'done' with him. What a riot! |

The Bad Astronomy Bitch Board started here on June 5th, 2001, as a place to complain about what was going on in the Bad Astronomy forums without violating Phil Plait's rules.
At least, that's how I understand it. I wasn't here when the BABB started up. |
