Creationist Chairwoman of S.C Board of Education Rsigns as Sex Scandal Goes Public
| Kristin Maguire, the Chairwoman of the S.C. State Board of Education resigned her post shortly before SC poliblog FITSNews published a piece claiming that Maguire is a “prolific author of hardcore erotic fiction on the Internet.” FITS promised something juicy was on the way last Friday, which is actually when she submitted her resignation to the LuvGov himself. The article also alleges that Maguire engaged in lap dances at bars, public indecency at Jenny Sanford's desk in the governor's office, and points to a probable cover-up by Sanford's staff when they were tipped off earlier this year. |

| Okay. There is this from Fitsnews. Thing is, these are blogs. The press has not picked up on these allegations yet, so I feel the need to proceed cautiously for the moment. Let's see how this plays out... |

That's okay. We all probably already figured that such people are human beings like the rest of us. The difference between us is that they are pretending to a higher standard of morality while working their asses off to produce a higher standard of dumb in edumacation.
What's immoral isn't writing porn or doing lap dances. It's the screaming hypocrisy. And it's homeschooling your own kids, while ruining a public education system by inserting one's own interpretation of the Bible.

Oh I know. Even if she didn't do what is being alleged, it's hopefully a good thing for the children of SC that she is gone. I don't know if serving on that board is an elected or appointed job. Either way, these goobers keep making it on to school boards. So there is no guarantee she will not be replaced by another creationut goober.

I'm with PZ on this one...
How retarded is it that she resigns over sex stories.... but is not fired for being incompetent and unqualified to run a school board?

Science slowly and with great difficulty sorts, accumulates and tests knowledge of nature. The believers in a demon-haunted world are the rear guard of ignorance, just as slowly giving up ground.
